On the first Friday of each month I usually share my own First Friday Freewrite exercise with you, but with the Fall semester in full swing, I have been beyond swamped with actual coursework writing and have had no time for my own creative freewriting endeavors. To keep up with the First Friday Freewrite theme, this month I will be sharing my favorite freewriting websites instead. There is no lack of interesting sites and amazing places to find prompts, but I have found these sites to have some of the most interesting and exciting freewriting inspiration. As usual, please feel free to share your own freewriting here at Refreshingly Riki!
I especially like the idea of I/Me/My Prompts. Using our own experiences is a great way to begin a freewriting exercise.
This page is full of ideas for every month of the year. Although it is aimed at students, you are sure to find many creative topics to get your pen moving.
I love the Writing Forward site for its wealth of information and they do not disappoint with these 25 inventive writing prompts.
Writer’s Digest is the gold standard for writers, and this page on their site offers imaginative writing prompts that are sure to be the start of a beneficial freewriting exercise. Who knows? Maybe a short story or novel will emerge!
This site, aimed at making writing more doable for those with a very busy schedule, offers wonderful prompts every day, as well as great writing resources.
This is a great site that generates a new writing prompt daily and has the added fun of social media sharing.
