Hello, friends! I am so happy that you could join me for a very special day here at Refreshingly Riki. I’m super excited to be a part of the Blog Tour for Brandy Jeffus’ new novel, AGAIN. Today I am sharing an exclusive interview with the author as well as a giveaway opportunity.
Here is a brief synopsis to get you excited about the book:
From recess buddies to high school sweethearts, Eli Stone and Bonnie Jinks were constants in each other’s lives. Although young, their relationship had withstood the test of many teenage tribulations. Marriage and a happy ever after were in their future plans.
One alcohol fueled mistake rips them apart. Bonnie ends up on the road with her new boyfriend while Eli joins the military. It seems as if their lives would never intersect again.
A near fatal accident brings them together and their chemistry is undeniable. But will the pain of the past keep them apart? Can they make their love work again?
Sounds great, right? As if that wasn’t exciting enough, I’m pleased to be hosting an interview with the author herself. She was kind enough to stop by and answer some questions and I’m excited to share them with you here today. Without further ado, please welcome Brandy Jeffus to the blog!
Riki: Describe yourself in five words.
B.J.: Maternal, nerdy, clean-freak, caring, quiet
Riki: What is the best piece of advice have you ever received in your writing career?
B.J.: To avoid reading the really bad reviews, you can’t please everyone and you can avoid pain/heartache by tormenting yourself with the nasty ones.
Riki: What was your favorite part of writing AGAIN?
B.J.: I loved the flashbacks, I think they are an important part of the story and I liked having Eli’s POV in there.
Riki: Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character(s) from AGAIN?
B.J.: Oooohhhh, tough one…Maybe Jennifer Lawrence, because she is amazing and I have a girl crush on her! I think she would make a terrific Bonnie 🙂
Riki: What is an unknown fact or fun trivia about AGAIN?
B.J.: Miss Cindy is loosely based off my mother. Her infinite wisdom is AMAZING and mind-boggling. My own Mama never tried to be a friend first, but she has ended up becoming my best friend.
Riki: E-Books or Traditional Paper Books?
B.J.: I loooove the feel of turning an actual page and the smell of a new book, so definitely traditional paper books!
Riki: What are you working on now?
B.J.: I am working on an inspiration New Adult book titled “Love, Kinsey” With Summer here and my children are out of school, I will hopefully have it published in a couple months!
Riki: Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?
B.J.: I have always wanted to be a writer. Since before I could actually wield a pen to paper and knew all my alphabet. Reading is so important and we adults have the job of planting a love for reading in our children at a young age. I think that’s really important!
