What I’m Writing:
This week was much better in terms of writing goals. I didn’t quite reach 6,000 words this week, but I was pretty close, and more than that I did some brainstorming to keep me moving in the right direction. Besides my WIP I did a lot of blogging this week and wrote several book reviews, so stay tuned for those!
What I’m Reading:
You’ll be so proud of me! I finished INSURGENT! Oh, and I went ahead and finished ALLEGIANT as well! So, I suppose it’s safe to say that I’m out of my reading slump. Now I’m on to reading Rebekah Crane’s ASPEN and Jenny Han’s THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY.
What I’m Listening To:
I was feeling a little nostalgic this week and found myself listening to music from when I was in high school. (Maybe because I’m writing a book about being in high school? I don’t know…) So, I listened to REM, Pearl Jam, and Bush this week. Great writing music!
What’s Inspiring Me:
This week I was inspired by junior high kids. I play the flute in a community band and had the opportunity to do a combined concert with the junior high kids where I was able to sit back and observe the way they interacted with each other. It was joyful, and it gave me much needed inspiration for getting into the voice of my young adult novel.
What’s Next:
I’m sticking with my 6,000 word goal this week. Even though I didn’t quite reach it last week, it’s a good goal. Besides that I’d like to get two novels read this week as well.
