When Adam walks into the same tango class that Julie signed up for, she recognizes him immediately as the professor whom she had a crush on in college. Both Adam and Julie have proven themselves to be excellent scholars. But when the attraction between them turns into something more, will they be able to open their hearts and learn a new lesson – how to love.
Miss Riki’s Review:
Audra North can write a novella! Woo, boy- this was a good one! I loved how both lead characters came from a place of hurt and overcame their circumstances through hard work and determination to make something better for themselves. Considering the constraints of writing a novella, these characters are extremely well developed and interesting people.
Adam and Julie have a brief history with an almost-kiss, but their chemistry upon meeting again is undeniable. Adam’s reluctance to fall for Julie gave the story nice tension, and starting with a slow burn and some gentle flirting, things really heat up for them in the bedroom. It’s a fun romance with some deeper connections, and man, is it ever hot.
Overall, this was a fantastic read. It is well paced and steamy, with heart in all the right places. I haven’t read Audra North’s other Stanton Family Novellas, but I’ll definitely be heading over to check them out. If you’re looking for a quick read with all of the drama and substance of a full-length novel, check out A Lesson in Temptation.
