Bliss Edwards is tired of being a virgin. When she gets fed up once and for all, she decides that there’s only one way to deal with her little problem and sets out to find the perfect solution- a one-night-stand. Sounds simple, but when she freaks out and leaves the guy stranded, naked in her apartment, she realizes that losing her V-card isn’t quite that easy. Adding insult to injury, when Bliss arrives for her fist class of her last semester at college, the man standing in front of the classroom looks very familiar, since he was naked in her bed only 8 hours earlier.
This was a really cute, quick read. Cormack has taken what could be really heavy subject matter (a student-teacher romance) and turned it into something altogether fun and light. There’s no drama or angst in this book. Well, aside from the highly embarrassing moments that seem to plague Bliss at every turn. But those are pure fun!
The meet-cute in this book is everything, from Bliss’s adorable gut reaction to a really hot guy, right down to finding out that Garrick is British. British! Hot guy with a swoon-worthy accent! What’s not to love?!? Garrick is the perfect love interest, all earnestness and taking care of Bliss when she’s down.
Readers will love living in Bliss’s world, with a lively cast of friends that made me want to go right back to college. The conflict is meaty without being overdramatic and drew me right in. There’s on overarching humor to the book that had me laughing out loud. Bliss says some really funny things, and her acute observations about the crazy world around her are wonderful with a quirky twist.
Super likable heroine? Check. Swoon-worthy leading man? Check. Quirky cast of friends? Check.
This is a great read!
