Avery Yeung’s biological clock just went off early. Thanks to her family’s medical history, she’s running out of time to get knocked up. And the only guy within donating distance? Her overprotective—and irritatingly hot—best friend. So clearly she needs an anonymous donor…
Anonymous donor? Over Sheriff Drew Flannery’s dead body. While daddyhood will never be in the cards for a man with his past, Drew won’t let Avery shop for a “popsicle pop.” He’ll do what’s right for his best friend by doing his best friend. But only if they do it properly.
Miss Riki’s Review:
I am a sucker for a good best-friends-to-lovers story, and Katee Robert has written an amazing one here with FALLING FOR HIS BEST FRIEND. Not only is it sexy as all get out (I mean seriously- sex against the squad car- OMG), but it is also so darned sweet. Plus- the added cultural diversity element rounds out an already intriguing matchup, making this an amazing book. It is so refreshing to read a book with a main character that is not like me, and the strong cultural family element of this book was so well done.
I absolutely loved Avery as the leading lady in this book. I’ve read plenty of books where a main character feels the pressures of her biological clock, but never one that was prompted by such a very real medical issue, and it added a certain depth and immediacy to the situation that drew me right in. Avery doesn’t just want a baby because she feels like she’s getting older; she wants one because it might be medically impossible for her to have one if she waits. Man, that floored me. Those are stakes that really matter!
And Drew- oh, man, did I ever love him. Hot cop- yeah, for sure. Who doesn’t love a man in uniform, especially one that takes care of the town drunk and streaking teenagers with the same dedication that he might give to larger crimes? But what really got me was the incredible chemistry with Avery. There’s a long-standing love between them, and I was literally yelling at Drew to get over those demons that plagued him so that he could admit to that love.
I loved everything about this book and would recommend it to romance lovers. It’s everything you could ask for- equal parts steamy and sweet, with a strong cultural element and a dynamite love story. Katee Robert writes amazing romance, and she is on my insta-buy list.
