Hello everyone! I hope you are reading this post in the middle of a highly enjoyable and thoroughly relaxing weekend. I’ve been thinking about the blog lately and wondering how I could change things up a bit to keep it more in line with my original vision and what I have going on in my life and have decided to make a change that I’m excited to tell you about.
Don’t worry, I’ll still be updating you on my journey through weight loss to better health with Mind Over Mondays and I will still be doing the Book Challenge Updates each month. What I’d like to do is change up the way I present the book reviews here at Refreshingly Riki. Right now I do a sort of digest at the end of each month featuring all of the books that I’ve read and reviewed that month, but I feel like the posts are awfully busy and hard to absorb. Also, the books aren’t getting the attention they really deserve being all bunched up like that.
So….I will continue to review each book I’ve read here, but in keeping in line with my vision, each book will now get its own blog post. That’s right, more room to discuss the books and feature their awesomeness in all its glory! Full posts on each book will ensure that each book gets its due attention and will hopefully give you as readers better insight into each selection. I will continue to follow up at the end of each month with a wrap-up to let you know how far I’ve come in the official Goodreads Book Challenge. (I’m at 26 books now; 9 books ahead of schedule!)
I’ll start soon with a review of the insightful Shame of the Nation by Jonathan Kozol, which is an intriguing book about apartheid schooling in America. Soon after I will be reviewing a New Adult selection by the wonderful Alessandra Thomas titled Picture Perfect. I can’t wait to share both books with all of you!
I hope that you enjoy the changes and that you find a book or two along the way that excites you!
Until next time….happy reading!
