But a late-night drink reveals a connection she wasn’t anticipating finding and what begins as a casual fling soon develops into something much more when Ella learns Jamie has a life-changing secret. Immediately, Ella is faced with a seemingly impossible decision: turn her back on the man she’s falling in love with to follow her political dreams or be there for him during a trial neither are truly prepared for. As the end of her year in Oxford rapidly approaches, Ella must decide if the dreams she’s always wanted are the same ones she’s now yearning for.

Miss Riki’s Review:
This book was such a pleasant little surprise! It definitely skews women’s fiction, despite the sweet romance inside, but it was so well written and captivating! I LOVE the main characters Ella and Jamie. they are both highly intelligent and their witty banter throughout the book was sweet and engaging. Jamie has a dry wit about him that made him so relatable and fun. I fell head over heels for him as the hero in this book! Full of heart and emotion that caught me by surprise, readers will fall for Oxford as almost a character itself as seen through the eyes of Ella. the last 10% of the book has me misty-eyed and emotional, and I feel like I’m a better person for reading this story. I highly recommend it!
