July & August Reading Challenge Update
This summer has absolutely flown by, and I completely spaced last month on updating you on my Reading Challenge! But, never fear, because I have been reading furiously as usual and have found some real gems in the past couple of months! One of the things I love most about writing for LitReactor.com is the opportunity to round up books of a certain theme and then explore all of the different books that tackle the same subject. In the past couple of months I’ve had fun reading on themes, and of course I’ve thrown in some variety- just for fun!
For those of you who missed my initial post on this topic, I have decided to embark on a most enjoyable challenge to read 100 books in 2015. I have chosen to participate in the Goodreads 2015 Reading Challenge in which I select my own goal. Each month I will give you an update on where I am in the challenge and what books I was lucky enough to indulge in. I’ll also include a purchase link for each book in case you would like to pick a read up for yourself.
Well, I actually surpassed my goal and read beyond 100 books last month, so I decided to update the challenge and aim for 130 books by the end of the year. So- these stats are for my updated goal of reading 130 books in the year 2015!
In the month of July and August, I have read twenty-three books, and according to the graph on Goodreads, I am at 84% of my goal and am twenty-three books ahead of schedule! Eep! That’s so much reading! But, I love it!
This past month I have read the following books:
5,000 Words Per Hour by Chris Fox
Take Off Your Pants! By Libbie Hawker
Manuscript Makeover by Elizabeth Lyon
Fast Fiction by Denise Jaden
Write-A-Thon by Rochelle Melander
As usual, I welcome your book recommendations!
