I am so pleased to be Interning for the world’s most amazing author, Rebekah Crane! She is a wildly talented writer, but also is the most enthusiastic and fun person to work with. Today I am excited to share with you a very special message from Rebekah herself! Rebekah is hard at work finishing up her second young adult novel, ASPEN and is getting ready to release the first chapter out to the public! But before we get the goods, we need to help her reach some important social media milestones!
Here’s Rebekah’s message posted on her Tumblr account:
I am DYING to release the first chapter of my next YA novel, ASPEN. YOU can make it happen. Here are 3 ways:
1) 100 people add ASPEN to their TBR list on Goodreads.
2) 1,000 people rate or mark PLAYING NICE to-read on Goodreads.
3) 200 people “like” my author page on Facebook.
Need more incentive? Okay, I’ll pick 3 people to receive signed copies of PLAYING NICE! Just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell me you did one of the three things and I’ll put your name in the pot.
Here’s a teaser for ASPEN:
You know your life’s going to have some strange twists when your hippie mom names you after the tree she gave birth under at a stoner concert. She didn’t know she was pregnant; you end up being named Aspen….
Next thing you know, you’re seeing ghosts.
Before their cars collided, Aspen was the nondescript slacker flying under the radar, Katelyn the sleek-haired popular girl, one half—with gorgeous boyfriend Ben Tyler—of Boulder High’s “It” couple.
After the accident, Aspen is unexpectedly popular, her new lab partner Ben, as in Katelyn’s Ben, is unexpectedly interested in her … and in the biggest twist of all, Katelyn’s ghost appears unexpectedly at every turn. At first, Aspen feels badly.
Then she starts to feel annoyed.
With the help of best friends Kim and Cass, her childlike mother, Ninny, and Ben, Aspen must learn the difference between an accident and fate, while defining the role she wants to take in an indefinite world. It might just be the only way to banish Katelyn from her life forever.
Rebekah Crane’s darkly humorous new young adult novel, ASPEN, is the story of an accident and its aftermath. It’s about a girl struggling to forget the past while being deathly afraid of the future. But most of all, it’s the story of what comes next.
Let’s help Rebekah reach these milestones so we can get the first chapter of ASPEN! Stop by and add her books to your Goodreads lists and “like” her Facebook page. After you’ve done that, don’t forget to email her at email@example.com to be entered into a drawing to win a signed copy of Playing Nice!
If you’d like to read some of Rebekah’s work right now, head over and get a copy of Playing Nice. It’s a great book and you’ll fall in love with the characters.
