What I’m Writing:
This week I did very little writing, but I have a good excuse! I spent the beginning of the week brainstorming for where I’d like this book to go (lots and lots of notes were taken!) and spent the last half of the week at the Desert Nights, Rising Stars Writing Conference!
What I’m Reading:
Last week I finished reading Jenny Han’s THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY (review Monday) and began reading a craft book on writing. This coming week I plan on reading NIGHT GAMES by Collette West. I’ve been reading so much Young Adult lately; it will be nice to read an adult romance!
What I’m Listening To:
I didn’t listen to any music while brainstorming this week, but I did manage to listen to a whole lot of great 80’s tunes while in the car on the way to the writing conference!
What’s Inspiring Me:
This week I’m inspired by the incredibly informative sessions I attended at the Desert Nights, Rising Stars Writers Conference. I’m always amazed at how inspiring it can be to attend a simple craft class or hear a panel of agents and editors talk about the business of publishing. I spent the weekend jotting down not only notes from the wonderful sessions, but also about three pages of notes about my own book. The ideas were simply overwhelming and I’m eager to put all of this inspiration to work!
This week is all about moving forward. Now that I’ve attended the conference and have all of this excitement about writing and my story I’m going to ride the wave of enthusiasm and try to get 8-10,000 words written this week. I’ve got a plan from last week’s brainstorming and the energy thanks to the conference, so I’m ready to go! The goal for the week is forward progress!
